Obituary for Richard Dale Regan September 1, 1961 – August 19, 2025
Richard Dale Regan, 63, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, after a courageous and hard-fought battle with lymphoma. A devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, loyal friend, and man of deep faith, Rich’s life was marked by resilience, humor, and a boundless love for others.
Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Rich never lost his Husker pride, even after life’s journey took him from Omaha to Memphis, to the hills of East Tennessee, where he found his true hometown in Clinton.
Rich is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 36 years, Kissy Regan, who stood by his side as his greatest supporter and companion through every challenge. He is also survived by his son, Jared Kizzee (Allison), his daughter, Taylor Regan, and his cherished granddaughter, Kimber Kizzee. He leaves behind his sister, Debbie Brady, his beloved mother-in-law, Rheba Kizzee, along with many cousins, countless friends and extended family who were blessed to know his fierce loyalty and generous spirit.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Lucille Regan.
A two-time cancer warrior, Rich overcame leukemia earlier in life and faced lymphoma with unmatched strength and determination. Through it all, he remained a fighter, uplifted by his strong faith in Jesus and the unwavering love of his wife.
Rich had a lifelong passion for hot rods, racing, and football. He cheered for the Kansas City Chiefs but was, above all, a die-hard Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. He also had a deep love of music, especially the blues, and enjoyed attending concerts with Kissy and their friends. Rich had an offbeat sense of humor and never met a stranger—he had a way of turning casual conversations into lasting friendships.
A lover of animals, Rich was always surrounded by faithful dogs and affectionate cats. His tender heart extended not just to people, but to every creature that came into his life.
Above all, Rich was a man of profound faith. He loved Jesus with all his heart, and his family takes great comfort knowing that he is now at peace, free from pain, held in the loving arms of his Savior.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Second Baptist Church of Clinton, TN on Saturday, August 23rd 1PM to receive friends, service at 2 PM. Family and friends are invited to wear Nebraska Husker red in honor of Rich’s enduring team spirit.
