Penny Darlene Braswell Smith

Penny Darlene Braswell (Smith), age 57 of Powell, TN passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, at UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.

Penny was dedicated to her role as a caregiver for the residents at Courtyards Senior Living in Oak Ridge. She loved Jesus, her family, and spending time outdoors. Penny was a devoted mother and sister.

Penny is preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Annette Braswell and brother, Billy Braswell. She is survived by her son, Travis Braswell (Andrew Clark); daughter, Ashley Benson; brothers, Scotty Braswell and wife Sherry and Danny Braswell; sisters, Donna Wilson and Debbie Duncan (Bill Chapman).

There will be a receiving of friends on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with the memorial service following at 7:00 p.m. with Ricky Hayes officiating.
