Listen to Obituary

John Edward Hill, of Andersonville, Tennessee, passed away on September 4, 2026, at the age of 63.

John will be remembered as a very loving and caring man whose quick wit and great sense of humor made him a joy to be around. He was very likable, seemed to know everyone, and brought laughter into the lives of all who knew him. A hard worker throughout his life, he was a longtime employee of Energy Solutions until his illness. He graduated from Clinton High School and enjoyed the simple pleasures that meant the most to him, including fishing and four wheeling. He loved music and considered himself a true music buff, and he also loved baseball. Above all, John dearly loved his grandchildren and his “shadow,” Bella.

His family was at the heart of his life. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carol Ann Hill. He also leaves behind his children, Chad King, Casey Hill and husband Josh, and Teniele Rutherford and husband Travis. His love continues through his grandchildren, Jordan Shepherd, Paisley Shepherd, Landon King, and Luke Rutherford, who brought him great pride and happiness.

John is also survived by his sisters, Susan Chambers and her husband Charles, and Jennifer Stokes, as well as his brother-in-law, Kelvin Stokes. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Billy and Emma Hill; by his son, Anthony Bradley Foster; and by his sisters, Cynthia Hill and Kay Hill.

A memorial gathering for John will be held on September 8, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Jones Mortuary, 375 N Main St, Clinton, TN 37716.

John’s memory will live on in the laughter he shared, the kindness he gave, and the love he poured into his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and warmly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
