John Michael Carr

John Michael Carr age 77, passed away on June 27, 2025, in Knoxville, Tennessee. John was born on March 24, 1948, to the late Otis and Nancy Carr. John was a proud Navy Veteran. John was a truck and tour bus driver where he fell in love with traveling. He loved NASCAR, talking on the phone, gospel music and riding in his dune buggy. John loved spending time with his son-in–law Bobby and loved anything bears along with knives, gadgets and food. He loved the mother of his children Claudette Drope and caretaker Karen and husband Mike Skaggs.

Along with his parents, John is preceded in death by his brother Stephan Carr and sister Joan Byrge. He is survived by his son Rusty Carr and wife Amy, daughter Cynthia Shelton and husband Bobby and stepdaughter Lisa Walker and husband Donnie. Sister’s Loretta Braden and husband Benny and Pam Warner and husband Randy. Grandchild Bradley Carr, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday July 14, 2025, at Jones Mortuary from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery with full Military honors.
