Joe Austin Smith

Joe Austin Smith, age 79 of Clinton, TN passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Methodist Center in Oak Ridge, TN. Joe Austin was a loving father, and grandfather. He enjoyed life to the fullest, fishing, camping, and driving, traveling for miles and miles. Joe Austin was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Edie Smith; wife, Peggy Smith (Slover); and his brother, Howard Smith. Joe Austin is survived by his son, John Kevin Smith of Petros, TN; daughters, Gina Smith Suiter and husband, Brad of Clarksville, TN; and Kelli Renee Smith of Oak Ridge, TN; 6 grandchildren, Dee Smith, Taya Smith, Shemar Smith, Gabe, Ally, and Derek Suiter; and a host of other relatives and friends. Joe Austin’s family will receive his friends from 4:00pm – 6:00pm on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Clinton, TN with his celebration of life to follow at 6:00pm with Rev. Clayton Duncan officiating. Joe Austin’s interment will be private at a later date. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.
