Janie Brown

Janie L. Brown age 70 of Knoxville, TN passed away Saturday March 23, 2013 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. Janie was a member of Gayland Heights Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN. She enjoyed playing piano, organ, dominoes, cards, and working crossword puzzles. She always cared more for her family than herself. Janie was preceded in death by her parents Edward Shaffner, Sr. and Ruby Eppler Schaffner, brothers Edward Shaffner, Jr and Jack Coleman and sister, Anna Joe McClain. She is survived by her son, James Eddie Kea of Washington; daughters, Teresa Johnston of Corryton, Carrie Sue Paynter of Texas, and Janie Pearl Brown Kea of Pensacola, FL; brother, Sam Edward Shaffner of Big Springs, TX; grandchildren, Patrick M. Cantor of Loudon, Charity Johnston of Knoxville and Timothy L. Breed of Maynardville; great grandchildren, Christopher, Savannah, and Brian Canter and Jayden Breed. Janie's visitation will be Thursday, March 28, 2013 from 6-8 PM in the chapel of Jones Mortuary in Clinton. Her memorial service will be 4 pm Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Gayland Heights Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN.
