Edward Eugene Overbay

Edward Eugene Overbay, 64, of Clinton, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025. Born on November 3, 1960, in Clinton, Tennessee, Edward was the son of the late Donie Overbay and Thelma Phillips-Overbay.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Edward developed a deep love for cars early in life, which led to a long and dedicated career in auto body repair. In 1979, he married the love of his life, Donna Reed-Overbay, and together they raised one son, Anthony.

A devoted family man and a passionate fisherman, Edward was a proud member of several local fishing organizations. When he wasn’t casting a line on the lake, he could often be found behind the wheel of his cherished ’66 Pontiac GTO, with Donna by his side and one of their beloved dogs on his lap.

Edward is survived by his son, Anthony Overbay; his niece, Natashia Overbay-Phillips; his nephew, Aaron Overbay; and his great-nephews: Raylan, Ryley, Lincoln, Aaron Jr. (AJ), Sawyer, and Jensen. He also leaves behind his loyal four-legged companion, Leo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donie and Thelma; his brothers, Anthony and Kenneth; his beloved wife, Donna; and a lifetime of faithful canine companions who surely waited patiently to greet him once again—for another walk, another car ride, and another adventure.

Edward will be remembered for his kind heart, steady hands, and the joy he found in simple pleasures—fast cars, calm waters, and the love of his family.

The family will receive friends on July 3, 2025, starting at 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service stating at 1:00 p.m.  The family will meet at Anderson Memorial Gardens in Clinton at 2: p.m. for a graveside service.
