Darlene G Seiber, age 71 of Rocky Top, TN, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026. She will be remembered as a loving and supportive wife whose life was centered on faith, family, and service to others. She was the first lady of New Life Missionary Baptist Church, a role she held with devotion and love. Her church was deeply important to her, and she found great joy in serving others there. She also treasured the time she spent with her family and especially loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Among the simple pleasures that brought her happiness were shopping at flea markets and yard sales, something she loved to do.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Hugh and Cathleen Fairman as well as several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Ed Seiber, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage; sons, Arnold Joe Seiber (Tara), John Wayne Seiber (Terri); daughter, Julie Phillips (Tim); grandchildren, Megan, Macey, Mykaela, Kendra, Summer, Brittany, Cody, and Christopher “CJ”; and by her great-grandchildren, Armani, Jackson, Colben, Renleigh, Myleigh, Mariah, Makenna, Ashlynn, and Camden.
She is also survived by her brothers, Wayne Green of Decatur, TN, Albert Green of Sidney, OH, Donnie Green (Linda), and Robert Green (Velma) of LaFollette, TN; and by her sister, Susie Couey of Decatur, TN; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on September 5, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. all in the chapel of Jones Mortuary. Rev. Josh Hawkins and Rev. Teddy Metcalf will be officiating. Burial will take place on September 6, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Glen Foust Cemetery.
Darlene’s life was marked by love for her family, dedication to her church, and a generous spirit of service. She will be deeply missed and warmly remembered by all whose lives she touched. Jones Mortuary is honored to serve the family of Darlene Seiber.
