Mary Jewell Patton

Mary Jewell Patton age 86 of Clinton, TN passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. Mary was a dearly loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great- great grandmother. She loved gospel music, her preacher, Rev. Buddy Long and was proud to say she was saved and a member of North Clinton Baptist Church. Mary also was a member of the Salvation Army. Mary’s great grandson, Joseph Lane Dillman was very special to her, and she prayed daily for him. She loved everybody and no one was a stranger to her. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Maggie Meadows; husband, Earl Frank Patton; several brothers and sisters; son, Billy Joe Patton; son in law, Richard Hall; grandson, Rev. Sean Patton; granddaughter, Mary Sue Goforth. Mary is survived by her sons, Eugene Frank Patton & wife Linda of Sparta, TN, Kenneth Patton & wife, Helen of Oliver Springs, TN, stepson, Willie Patton of Oliver Springs, TN; daughters, Martha Hall of Clinton, TN, Wanda Martin of Oliver Springs, TN, Clara McCoy & husband, David of Toledo, OH, Nancy Patton of Clinton, TN, Danita Huckaby & husband, Teddy of Claxton, TN, daughter in law, Sylvia Patton of Oak Ridge, TN. She also leaves behind 21 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Mary’s family will receive her friends on Tuesday, June23, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm with her funeral service following at 8:00 pm in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with Rev. Fred Long officiating. Mary’s interment will be 2:00 pm Eastern standard time Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at New Bonair cemetery in Sparta, TN. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.
