Marilyn M. Anderson, 94, of Clinton, TN formerly of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Meadow View Assisted Living in Clinton, TN. Marilyn was born on July 21st, 1921 in Story City, Iowa, she was the older daughter of Stanton C. A. and Mabel Christenson James. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Vernon A. Anderson Marilyn graduated from Story City High School and Miss Woods Kindergarten and Primary Training School in Minneapolis, MN, taught kindergarten in Minnesota and Iowa and was supervisor of a Lanham Act Nursery School in Vancouver, Washington, during World War II. After moving to Fayetteville in 1951 she taught at the Brown Kindergarten and the Fayetteville Creative School. She was a 75 year P.E.O. and a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Fayetteville where she worked in the Sunday school, sang in the Chancel Choir and served as an Elder and on numerous committees. Those remaining to cherish her memory include her children and their spouses, Marita and W. R. Pratt of Lafollette, TN, Lyndall and Loren Soden of Englishtown, NJ, Mark S. and Linda Anderson of Cimarron, NM, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the First United Presbyterian Church, 695 Calvin St., Fayetteville, AR, 72703 or a favorite charity. There will be no public visitation. Private interment will be at the Lyons View National Cemetery in Knoxville, TN. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.
